Jos Thienpondt is born and raised in the old Antwerp - St. Andries Kwartier. Already
as a young lad, he was fascinated by the numerous artists, who were displaying their
paintings is small idyllic corners, in and around the church. At the age of 10, Jos
had already acquired his own set of brushes and oil paints and learned the tricks
of the trade from the old streetartists. After finishing his formal education at
the academy of Decorating art, he started his apprenticeship with master painter
Willem Dolphyn, where after four years he found his vocation as a realistic still
life painter.
Today Jos only paints mega realistic still life paintings, which are very polular
in our minimalistic environment.
